Each year, Invercargill City Council is proud to host a range of events across our diverse venues. This includes intimate weddings and kids’ birthday parties to large-scale festivals, sporting events, and corporate events.

Each of our venues is treasured and has its own unique touches, from the grand Civic Theatre and the iconic Queens Park, to sports grounds, heritage buildings and community spaces. They are the lifeblood of city life, and our team is on hand to help make each event a success.

About Invercargill

Founded in the 1850s and fondly known as the City of Water and Light, Invercargill has a character all of its own. Here you’ll find charming heritage buildings, wide open green spaces, long summer evenings, and the occasional appearance of the Aurora Australis overhead.
